Description:
A Healthy Workforce was designed for use in the
Zimbabwean workplace. The toolkit includes a guide for workplace
managers and leaders. Also included are a workbook, pamphlets,
and tools. It provides a clear guide to building HIV and AIDS workplace
policies and programmes. Existing policies and programmes can also
be refined using this toolkit. The toolkit is divided into three
parts:
A Healthy Workforce Workbook is a step-by-step
guide for workplace officers. Topics include policy and programmes
planning, development, implementation, monitoring, review and evaluation.
The SMARTWork Pamphlets are Information, Education
and Communication (IEC) and Behaviour Change Communications (BCC)
tools for workplace programmes. The pamphlets encourage reduction
in HIV/AIDS risk behaviours, stigma and discrimination.
Another
available tool is A Workplace Guide for Managers
and Labor Leaders: HIV/AIDS Policies and Programs. This CD is a definitive reference
on approaches, elements and details critical to workplace policy
and programmes. The complete CD-ROM can be obtained through the
SMARTWork website: www.smartwork.org.
The full A Healthy Workforce toolkit is primarily intended for workplace officers responsible
for policy development and designing and implementing workplace
programmes. However, the kit can be extremely useful to managers,
HIV/AIDS focal persons, peer educators, and labour representatives.
