Tools for Faith-based Communities
As a gathering place for families and individuals of all ages,
the faith-based community is an important setting for encouraging
healthy behaviour change. HIV/AIDS is not a traditional topic in
the faith-based community. However, its widespread impact
requires that the community acknowledge the disease and take action. Leaders
in the faith-based community can encourage compassion and care
for those affected and infected by the virus.
The tools included in this category can be used by ministers
in teachings, or as discussion guides in small groups. Faith-based
counsellors who work with individuals or couples will also find
these tools useful. Some of the tools in this category may be used
by youth ministers; additional tools to help facilitate behaviour
change in young people may be found in Tools
for Working with Youth.
