About this Behaviour Change ToolkitWhat is this Toolkit? This Behaviour Change (BC) Toolkit is a collection of resources that are designed to help people make healthier and safer relational and sexual choices. We call them "tools" because they can be used not only to educate people about HIV and AIDS, but also to help them make healthy choices that will build better lives for themselves and their families. What tools are included in the BC Toolkit?Eight tools are included in this Toolkit. Most of these tools were developed for use in Zimbabwe, but many can be used in other countries. Some of the tools are included in their entire form, while for others we provide excerpts. Information to enable you to get an original copy, when available, from the authoring organisation or publisher is included. Read a brief description of each tool below:
Who should use these tools? The BC Toolkit was designed to be used primarily by those individuals in the "helping" professions, such as teachers, trainers, counsellors, ministers, workplace managers and community leaders. Parents can use it to help their children make smart choices that will keep them from contracting HIV. Friends and individuals may use it to obtain information. In short, these tools are designed to be used by anyone who wishes to influence others or change themselves to make healthier, safer choices regarding their relational and sexual behaviour. AcknowledgementsThe Behaviour Change Toolkit developers are grateful to the many authoring organisations and publishers who created the tools showcased in this CD-ROM. Special thanks to all of the following organisations who graciously allowed us to include their tools:
